In this
blog I want to share my sign information regarding COVID-19. It is a spherical
or pleomorphic enveloped particles containing single Stranded RNA associated
with a nucleoprotein with in a capsid comprised of a matrix protein.
As you
all know there is no permanent treatment for the COVID-19. Treatment is done on
the basis of symptoms appear in the patient. Some drugs are used which are
helpful in treatment of patient. These drugs do not eliminate virus from the
body but reduce the symptoms upto some extent. Here I am going to discuss some
of these medicines
Firstly
a combination of Azithromycin and hydroxychloroquine is recommended for COVID-19 patients.
Azithromycin
is a macrolide antibiotics, since COVID-19 virus effect chest and throat, this
macrolide antibiotics is used to treat chest and skin infection that’s why it
is recommended
Hydroxychloroquine
is recommended because it is supposed to
slow down regulation of the immune response that is less inflammation and
inhibition of viral replication it could theoretically be used not only as treatment but as prevention.
Favipiravir
it inhibits the replication of viral genome .
it is
now the first oral approved medication in India for the treatment of COVID-19 .favipiravir targeting key protein enzyme that the virus uses to multiply its
genetic genome that is RNA inside the body.
Remdesivir
it was initially developed to treat RSV, virus that causes respiratory
infections. it is also used in the treatment of COVID-19 in USA .In USA, FDA
granted remdesivir as EUA. It is not a
vaccine and so it cannot prevent infection but it blocks replication of viral
genome.
Dexamethasone
is recently recommended by WHO. It is used to treat conditions that causes
inflammation, conditions related to immune system activity. There was no
benefit found fore people who did not require respiratory support.
Do not
use any of the above medication to treat COVID-19 patient unless your doctor
recommends that you do so .
Nice
