Modern ! Are we?

Modernisation is a gradual and fundamental change in the life of people. We call ourselves modern by wearing trendy apparel’s, speaking English language, driving a luxurious car, holding the latest mobile phone in hand .But are these the only practices that make a person modern?

I personally think man becomes modern when his outlook becomes scientific, when he is able to overpower superstitions.

When an individual starts providing logical explanation for every action,only then can he be called modern.

Similarly , a society cannot become modern until science and scientific outlook become a part of the daily life of people.

Moreover let’s remember that a modern society is where there is equality and justice , where the poor are not exploited by the rich and the powerful . We have a long way to go before we can call ourselves truly modern.
